FamBiz Netwalk

Friday 01 October 2021
North Cumbria

Our first ever FamBiz Netwalk will offer a day of great company and conversation with other family businesses, hiking amongst the stunning scenery of the Lake District with our mountain guides.

MORE INFORMATION

Dig out those hiking boots and prepare for a day of great company and conversation with other family businesses, amongst the stunning scenery of the Lake District.

Our first ever FamBiz Netwalk will take place on Friday 1 October, led by family business owners and mountain leaders, Nic & Charles Sproson.

We will be offering our family business community a choice of two guided walks (to suit individual fitness levels and preferences):

1. Helvellyn via Whiteside from Glenridding. This exciting 7 mile walk will take us the shortest route to reach the summit of Helvellyn from Glenridding. On this route we will conquer two Wainwright fells, Helvellyn and Whiteside. Starting at Glenridding we will begin a gradual ascent past the Greenside mines to ascend Whiteside, then onto Helvellyn Lower Man and eventually the summit of Helvellyn. There are magnificent views from above Red Tarn and the famous Striding Edge and Swirral Edge with a panoramic view of the whole Lake District Mountain Range on a clear day. We will return via the same route, from this direction you can appreciate the views towards the North Lakes, Blencathra and Skiddaw.

2. Ullswater Adventure – Howtown to Glenridding via Martindale with Ullswater Steamers. This scenic 8 mile walk will begin with a trip on the Ullswater Steamers, disembarking at Howtown and following some of the iconic Ullswater Way route, deviating past Hallin Fell to bypass a most beautiful and hidden church sitting in Martindale Valley, overlooked by the famous Red Deer

BOOK THIS WALK: https://walx.co.uk/find-walx/214229

Both walks will meet at 9am for tea/coffee and a piece of cake, aiming to start the walks at 9:45.

Prior to the FamBiz Netwalk, all walkers will receive details in the week prior to the event confirming the meeting point, parking arrangements, weather forecast and kit required. All terrain shoes with good grip will be required, along with a waterproof jacket and a rucksack with bottle of water and high energy snack.  The walk leaders will always have a first aid kit and emergency kit, but you must be able to carry your own rucksack for the duration of the walk. You are very welcome to bring your Nordic Poles or Tracking Poles if you wish.

Cost: Both walks cost £30 (plus the ferry charge for those walking the Ullswater Adventure)

For any questions on this event, please email team@fambiznet.co.uk

Dogs: If you would like to bring along a well-behaved dog on a lead, please email us to let us know. We will email all walkers in the week before the walk to ensure that no participants have any objections to this and then re-confirm to all those that have requested, that they will be allowed.
