Cumbrian Family business shortlisted in national excellence awards

Cumbrian family business, Lakeland Artisan has been shortlisted for the “Ambient Manufacturing Company of the Year” in 2021 Food Manufacture Excellence Awards, alongside Princes one of the leading food manufacturers in the UK.

The Food Manufacture Excellence Awards are to celebrate the outstanding achievements within the UK’s fast-growing food and drink industry. Rewarding all elements of food and drink manufacturing, including environmental initiatives, business acumen, business change management, supply chain innovation, young talent and teamwork.

The awards aim to highlight category leaders and trendsetters for their benefit and the benefit of their customers. Entries must demonstrate significant achievement in their category in at least three of the following areas: customer relationship building, quality assurance; environment and efficiency, skills development and training and business development. Entries should outline the benefits to the businesses of these achievements in terms of financial performance or market share and to its customers based on one or more testimonials.  The awards ceremony will take place online on Thursday 11th February 2021.

The company produces delicious preserves, chutneys and fruit syrups under Cumbrian Delights, a range of soft drinks and cordials as Mawson’s Original Drinks, a range of Gin, Vodka, Rum and Whiskey Liqueurs as Lakeland Liqueurs and finally Lakeland Hampers that brings all the brand together as well as other quality local produce.

Geoff Monkman, Managing Director, explained “being shortlisted for this national award is an extremely rewarding achievement”  Lakeland Artisan moved to a new purpose built production site in March 2020, and despite the events of this year, have opened two more permanent shops and for Christmas have three pop up shops in Kendal, Lancaster and Carlisle.
