Network partner, Enterprise Answers has recently appointed Jeremy Meadowcroft (pictured, right) as their new Business Lending Manager.
Enterprise Answers are a not-for-profit organisation that offers an alternative source of finance for businesses seeking funding, that have been unable to obtain the finance they require from mainstream sources, such as high street banks. The organisation is able to provide loans from £10,000 to £100,000 to businesses with Cumbria, North Lancashire and the Yorkshire Dales.
Jeremy began his new role on 1st September, taking over as Business Lending Manager from Tony Banks, who has now retired having completed eight years with the company.
Chief Executive of Enterprise Answers, Grahame Latus said, “We are pleased to have appointed Jeremy as our new Business Lending Manager, where his lending experience from the banking and alternative lending sectors will stand us in good stead to continue to provide the valuable service and support we offer to businesses following Tony’s decision to step down from the role.”
Jeremy describes himself as, “One of the last ‘old-school’ proper Bank Managers”, saying, “I spent sixteen years in Retail Banking where I managed my first branch, aged 32. I once had to go and visit one of my customers on New Years Day in the snow, to tell him he had just won the £1million premium Bonds! That was a day to remember! I then worked for a further fourteen years in Business banking, lending & looking after SME business owners and all their financial needs. After that, I then moved into the alternative funding sector.”
Talking about the alternative funding sector, Jeremy says, “We’re able to make local, responsible, conscientious lending decisions that Banks just don’t do anymore.
“This enables us to take a different view and help fund SME businesses to grow and prosper in our regions that otherwise cannot access mainstream funding.”
Speaking about his new role, Jeremy said, “I’m excited to be working with this wonderful organisation that helps lots of local, deserving businesses. I’m most looking forward to getting out into the region & meeting SME business owners & hearing their stories. Ultimately, by being able to offer financial support to these businesses that are the backbone of the regional and local economy, means that we are not only helping them to grow and prosper, but also to help create and sustain local jobs too.
