Cumbrian bakery named the county’s best in National awards

The team from Cumbrian bakery Lovingly Artisan, based at Plumgarths, near Kendal, found out on Monday 24th February that they had been named Cumbria’s best bakery.

They were named alongside 67 other county champions from across the UK, in the annual Bakery Business Magazine National Bakery awards.

The National Bakery awards are designed to put the finest bakery businesses in the UK in the spotlight, showcasing just how diverse and creative the country’s bakery industry really is.

Each of the winning bakeries have been selected from hundreds of entries based on their commitment to quality, customer service, innovation, and operational best practice across a number of business areas by a team of illustrious baking industry experts.

The winning county bakeries will be officially crowned at a swanky red-carpet celebration at 30 Euston Square, in London, on Wednesday 11th March 2020. During the evening 14 Regional Winners will also be announced, alongside the overall National Bakery of the Year winner for 2020.

Commenting on their win husband and wife Aidan Monks and Catherine Connor, owners and bakers at Lovingly Artisan, said: ‘’What a great way to start the year, named as Best Bakery in Cumbria! The whole team take a huge amount of pride in what we do day in and day out and awards like this are a huge pat on the back for everyone and shows that we are on the right track delivering the best possible products to both our retail and wholesale customers across the North West from our bakeries in both Cumbria and Manchester.’
