Building partnerships – The Family Business Network and Rachael Bell Wealth Management

We were intrigued to know more about the story behind our newest partners, who are one of Cumbria and the North’s principal wealth management specialists. In doing so, the team from Rachael Bell Wealth Management also told us how much they gain from working with us here at the Network and indeed with the family business sector;

“We are so excited to have become a partner of The Family Business Network in Cumbria. We have previously sponsored the Food & Drink Producers category at the Family Business Awards and attended the Family Business Conferences. We have thoroughly enjoyed each event and there is a distinct atmosphere which you do not experience elsewhere. There is such a feeling of community and support at each event.

We love the whole ethos of the Network and we learn something new every time. It is a network where the family businesses and entrepreneurs celebrate each other’s success and learn from one another’s difficult times in business. I think most of all, we are very proud of the amazing family businesses and entrepreneurs we have in Cumbria and we want to support, promote and be part of this fabulous community.

Rachael Bell Wealth Management began with Rachael wanting to be able to deliver a financial planning service which was no longer available in the banking industry. We take time to get to know our clients so we can fully understand their circumstances and objectives and have a holistic approach to our client’s needs. Rachael has 25 years experience in financial services and has built the business on a strong foundation of building trusted relationships with clients and giving tailored financial advice to add value to their individual circumstances. Before long, Pam joined the team and brought her 20 years of banking experience with her to help the provide the exceptional service which we pride ourselves. As the business grew Gemma and Abigail were brought on board. It is important to us that the business grows organically and all progress is sustainable. Each member of the team is valued equally and brings their own skill set to the table.

The relationships with our clients are for the long term and we support them through life’s changes. As an example Rachael supports clients through their working lives and has a specialism in pensions and then the whole team supports them through the daunting transition into retirement. Abigail was brought into to the business so that we can cater for the next generation of young professionals and provide financial planning to support them through the early stages of their career, and planning for the exciting milestones that may arise.

We recently attended the 2019 Family Business Conference. As a growing business in its relatively early stages it is so important to us to learn from successful businesses which have passed from generation to generation. The conference sparks so many ideas and raises so many points which we would never have previously considered.

Abigail is also going to attend the Family Business Next Generation event which she is really looking forward to. When the next generation panel spoke at the conference there was a lot of situations and feelings that Abigail could relate to. She is really looking forward to meeting others in similar positions and hopes opportunities to work together and collaboration will arise.
