Bakes & Brews…

Ever fancied learning how to make perfectly delicious gooey choc brownies and brushing up on your home barista skills while you’re at it?

Well now you can at one of a series of one-day brownie and barista workshops run by Ginger Bakers and Rinaldo’s Coffee.

During the day you’ll have every opportunity to get really hands on (or should that be hands in…) as you mix up gooey chocolatey treats with Lisa Smith (the head honcho at Ginger Bakers) and after lunch you’ll be able to reveal your inner barista as you brew a bean or two under the expert tutelage of Rin Colombi (aka Mr Coffee) at Rinaldo’s Coffee…

What does the day look like??

Under the watchful eye of Lisa, you’ll have the perfect opportunity to learn some serious brownie skills, pick up insider tips and tricks as you let your imagination run riot when you finish of the session by producing your own signature brownie or blondie.


After lunch it’s time to roll up your sleeves and get all steamy with Rin… as you embark on his specially condensed home barista course… you’ll take a brief look at the art of coffee roasting, before building up a head of steam and having a go at brewing the perfect espresso, before working up a real froth as you experiment with milk texturing so that you can get seriously arty with your latte…

The day’s choc n’ coffee schedule:

10.00am – 10.30am Meet and greet at Ginger Bakers, and then it’s time to enjoy a quick espresso pick me up at Rinaldo’s before getting your bake on…

10.30am – 12.30pm Roll up your sleeves and get started in the bakery, learn brownie making skills and get cracking on your own gooey choc creation

12.30pm – 1.30pm Lunch and no you can’t stuff your face with brownies… well maybe one won’t hurt…

1.30pm – 4.00pm Barista training with Rin… it’s time to get your coffee on!!!

Time to go… afterwards say your goodbyes, collect your creations from Lisa and pick up 250g bag of coffee of your choice from Rin before you head home… the perfect thing to keep you going…

Courses are priced at £95 per person, with a full day’s expert tuition from Lisa Smith of Ginger Bakers and Rinaldo Colombi of Rinaldo’s Coffee. All equipment needed for the day is provided. The course runs from 10am until 4pm, lunch is provided.

The next course is on Saturday 09th November 2019. Courses after that are being held on Saturday 08th February 2020 and Saturday 09th May 2020.
